About Us

What is ASISST?

The ASISST project is a new initiative funded by Innovate UK (Grant number: 10074300) to Address Shortages in Semiconductor Skills Training.

We are working to raise the UK public’s awareness of the semiconductor industry and produce accessible, relevant semiconductor training courses to fill identified gaps in UK STEM graduates. We also interact with local school pupils and their teachers during their visits to the University of Sheffield and local schools.

The project offers free and accessible online courses to highlight the importance of semiconductor technology and the excellent career opportunities available in this industry.

In addition, an in-person course aimed at STEM undergraduates, and MSc or PhD students wishing to pursue a career in semiconductor technology will be available on several dates in the summer of 2024. Professionals in the semiconductor industry or those wishing to gain semiconductor knowledge are also welcome.
